Cashier, Pool Monitor, and General Employment

The Swimming Swan is excited to begin hiring for the upcoming 2024 Season!

As the first person patrons see when entering the facility, your responsibility as a Cashier is to maintain a positive first impression and aid patrons in their administrative needs. Similarly, Pool Monitors are often the first go-to for patron questions and concerns, not to mention responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of the pool deck. 

Employment is contingent upon successful passing of a background/reference check and drug screening.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND HOURS

Cashier

  • Greet pool patrons
  • Check and register patrons for any applicable pool passes, including daily and seasonal.
  • Processing cash, debit, and credit transactions using a point-of-sale system.
  • Accept payments.
  • Calculate and return change when required by the payment method.
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change when necessary.
  • Answer customer questions about products or services.
  • Add and remove patrons from the lesson/event schedule as needed.
  • Aid patrons in registering for pool programs, such as swim lessons and the Jr. Lifeguard program.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts.
  • Report issues with equipment.
  • Follow required protocols for sanitation and cleaning.
  • Work directly with the Assistant Pool Manager to run the concession stand.

Pool Monitor

  • Monitor all activity on the aquatics deck, pool and aquatics locker rooms/bathrooms and report any suspicious activity to the Supervisor.
  • Greet and check-in visitors and answer questions.
  • Monitor and politely remind patrons entering the pool of Social Distancing/PPE Procedures
  • Observe that the Property and Pool Rules are followed.
  • Fill out an Incident Report for any accident, rule violation requiring action and any safety concern.
  • Follow all safety & liability regulations.
  • Follow any/all facility membership guidelines (as needed).
  • Cleaning/Sanitizing and Disinfecting Procedures, depending on schedule and hours.
    • May include company policies regarding Covid-19
  • Assists in monitoring weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests.
  • Maintains a clean environment in and around the pool
  • Assists in organization and monitoring of pool parties or rentals.
  • Provides assistance to patrons when appropriate or necessary.
