The Swimming Swan is proud to partner with the City of Gilroy for the Summer of 2022. We’re looking for enthusiastic Cashiers to help us run the front desk and concessions stand at the Christopher High School Aquatics Center.

Cashier/Concessions Position in Gilroy, CA

As the first person patrons see when entering the facility, your responsibility as a Cashier is to maintain a positive first impression for The Swimming Swan and provide excellent customer service. All New Hires will take part in First Aid/CPR training.

Employment is contingent upon successful passing of a background/reference check and drug screening.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet pool patrons
  • Check and register patrons for Community Pool Passes, including daily and seasonal.
  • Processing cash, debit, and credit transactions using a point-of-sale system.
  • Accept payments.
  • Calculate and return change when required by the payment method.
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change when necessary.
  • Answer customer questions about products or services.
  • Add and remove patrons from the lesson/event schedule as needed.
  • Aid patrons in registering for pool programs, such as swim lessons and the Jr. Lifeguard program.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts.
  • Report issues with equipment.
  • Follow required protocols for sanitation and cleaning.
  • Work directly with the Assistant Pool Manager to run the concession stand.

PAY RATES

Beginning at $16 hourly
15-20 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Accountability and accuracy in reconciling sales receipts
  • Oriented toward serving others and helping customers
  • Customer-service skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred

 

BONUSES:

There is a $150 bonus for our NEW HIRES AT CHS in Gilroy that get hired to work and finish out the summer season at CHS in Gilroy.  First payout of $50 on 6/30, Second payout of $50 on 7/31, Third payout of $50 on 8/15
