3 Hour Class

This course helps fulfill the Coaches Safety Education requirement for USA Swimming and meets the water safety requirements for the YMCA of the USA Certification Requirements for Swim Coaches.

This course highlights possible life-threatening and potentially hazardous situations in and around the water and the techniques and skills for preventing and dealing with them. This course also provides information about workout and warm-up procedures, racing starts, event safety, emergency planning, electrical safety, weather and environmental conditions, and handling of medical conditions and injuries, including first aid.

To receive the Certification, you must complete the online Coursework with Red Cross and the in-water skills tests. Certification is valid for 2 years.
