Swimming Classes in Albany, CA
Located in Alameda County, Albany (not to be confused with the city in New York) sits in Northern California. Before the city was named Albany, it was called the City of Ocean View. We’re guessing this is because the city has a total area of 5.5 square miles, with 3.7 square miles (or 67%) of the total acreage being water. In 1909, voters of the city decided to change the name of Albany so they wouldn’t be confused with a nearby city previously named Ocean View.
Whether you’re just visiting or reside in Albany, there is plenty to do. Local favorites often include a visit to Tilden Regional Park, where you can enjoy the 2,000 + acres plus tons of recreational activities. Or perhaps a visit to the Cesar Chavez Park is necessary, where you can either fly a kite, or take your dog for a run with scenic views of the bay. Other popular favorites include a trip to Lake Anza or a trip to Point Isabel Regional Shoreline, where visitors can enjoy birdwatching or fishing.
