After the cold, wet winter passes; spring and summer bring warm sunshine and days spent outside, possibly in the water. What better way to be prepared and to ensure safety of your loved ones by having a firm grasp with your water safety skills. Water safety skills such as remaining calm, being comfortable in this foreign environment, knowing breathe control, being able to float and kick efficiently are just a few examples of what can save a life.

Knowing how to swim can not only prevent injury and death, it can open the doors to new experiences that might have been closed off. Water sports such as stand up paddling, open water swimming, surfing, boating and perhaps for some even enjoying the beach and being able to fully submerge without anxiety can bring wonderful joys to people of all ages.

There are many learn to swim programs out there for babies, toddlers, youth, adults and seniors and registering for these early so that they are in your schedule is a great first step to learning the water safety skills. Classes fill up quickly as summer approaches and making sure the kids are ready to go is a setting them up for future success.
