2 Day Course

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services EMS personnel take over.

This a blended learning course with online coursework, classroom and in-water skills tests.

Certification Includes: Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer valid for 2 years. 

Prerequisites:

Participants must be at least 15 years of age on the first day of class.

Complete Red Cross 8 Hours Online Blended Learning; must print out verification and bring to first day of in-class session.

Pass Swim Test: 300 yard continuous swim of Front Crawl or Breaststroke

2 minute tread using legs only

Retrieve a 10-lb brick from 7 feet deep and swim 20 yards with the weight, using legs only and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute 40 seconds
