Swimming Instructor Position in Gilroy, CA
The Swimming Swan is dedicated to ensuring that we provide the highest quality services to clients in our community, which is why we provide FREE certification courses for all of our staff, as well as encourage all our instructors to use their unique skills and experiences in their lessons.
Employment is contingent upon successful passing of a background/reference check and drug screening. Pay Rates are based on experience and certification.
If You are New to the Aquatics Industry – check out our Red Cross Certification Courses. We have on-going classes so you can learn the skills required to work in the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Current and Valid ARC or equivalent certification including but not limited to: WSI, Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED
- Ability to pass pre-employment verbal skills and program design tests.
- Flexible schedule required.
- Special Needs/Adaptive Aquatic teaching experience preferred.
- Strong customer service background preferred.
As a Swan Swim Instructor, your role includes:
- Completing pre-season training and in-service training during the season when required
- Virtual and in-person training may be required.
- Planning, organizing, and leading lessons with respect to the needs or goals of the clientele.
- Creating and executing a structured progression program design based on the client’s goals or needs with respect to The Swimming Swan LLC. curriculum.
- Monitoring pool-related activities closely throughout shifts and identifying any safety/hazard issues. Using good judgment to determine if patrons are safe and properly conducting themselves.
- Directs swimmers out of the pool and/or to clear the deck during hazardous conditions.
- Monitoring weather reports closely to ensure the safety of clientele.
- Completes and submits incident reports and documentation forms when applicable.
- Provides assistance to clientele when appropriate or necessary.
- Completes the “Certificates of Achievement” for all youth swim programs, children 12 and under.
- Supporting The Swimming Swan LLC. mission statement as well as the goals of the individual clientele or group/team.
PAY RATES
- Starts at $17.50 per Hour
BONUSES
- There is a $150 bonus for our NEW HIRES AT CHS in Gilroy that get hired to work and finish out the summer season at CHS in Gilroy. First payout of $50 on 6/30, Second payout of $50 on 7/31, Third payout of $50 on 8/15
